P & P – Two Passes Run January 2025

The first Sunday Run of 2025 on Jan 12th meets at 9:30 for a 10:00 departure at Moorlands ,Owler Bar S17 3BQ .

Our route is via The Hope Valley to The Ladybower Reservoir, then up The Snake Pass dropping down into Glossop, and on to our mid morning break at The Arnfield Reservoir Cafe overlooking the Arnfield Reservoir.

Then its briefly onto the back on to Woodhead Pass, before turning left and heading up to The Holme Moss Transmitter from where a panoramic view of the Kirklees Area will (hopefully be visible).

After passing through Holmfirth where The last of the Summer Wine was filmed, we climb up Dunford Road to The Flouch Roundabout, passing very close to The Oil Can Cafe on route.

Then we drop down the hill towards Stocksbridge, turning right towards Midhopestones before arriving at our final destination Ye Olde Mustard Pot for a Sunday Roast or just a Sandwich

Should The Snake Pass be closed our route will be via The Winnats Pass to Glossop, then roughly as above.

As venues that are able to take the numbers of cars we are attracting on our runs are difficult to find, I would ask members to buy something at each venue, be it only a cuppa, a buttie or a piece of cake.
