SUMMARY:North West – Hardknott Challenge
DESCRIPTION:Wrynose / Hardknott Challenge – Organised by Phil & Nick \nMeet at Carnforth Truck Haven LA5 9RG    10:00am for a 10:30 start \nThis run has challenging sections throughout\, the second and third sections have narrow\, winding and steep roads. Members are responsible for their own vehicle and should drive within their capabilities and with care. \nThe first section of the run is 32 miles and will take approx 1 hour. \nLeaving the Truck Stop this is a beautiful drive up the A6\, through the Lyth Valley\, Bowland Bridge and along the shore of Lake Windermere\, travelling through Bowness to Hayes Garden World in Ambleside. (LA22 0DW). Here there is plenty of free parking for a 45 minute comfort break with cafe and toilets available. \nThe second section is 22 miles and will take approx 1.5 hours. \nLeaving Hayes Garden World we will drive through Ambleside heading toward Keswick\, turning off to Grassmere Village and then travelling through the scenic Great Langdale Valley passing the spectacular Langdale Pikes leading onto the Wrynose and Hardknott Passes. This offers a challenging and exhilarating drive for both driver and passenger!! \nArriving at Dalegarth Station in Boot (CA19 1TG) for 1.5 hour lunch break. \nParking at the station is £4 (cash or card). Reserved parking can be arranged and also tables for those requiring a cafe lunch. The cafe has requested approx numbers\, so could people please indicate if they wish to have lunch by contacting Nick\, by text on 07779 402806 or email on nickslack17@hotmail.co.uk \nThe third section is 37 miles and will take approx 1 hour. \nLeaving Dalegarth Station we travel over the rugged Birker Fell through Ulpha and onto the A595 and A590 to finish at Gilpin Bridge Inn (LA8 8EP) \nWe hope everyone enjoys the run and can join us for a drink. SUMMARY:North West – Back to The 50’s
DESCRIPTION:This event is organised by Rod & Mandy and takes us to “The 1950’s Museum” \nMeeting at Chester services on the M56\, 09:45am for a 10:15 start\, we drive through the Cheshire lanes into Wales and onto The 1950’s Museum which is on the outskirts of Denbigh\, LL16 4SU. A reduced club entry fee of £5.50 per head has been negotiated\, tea or coffee £1.
