DESCRIPTION:This run still has some fine tuning to be done so could change slightly. This run is listed on Eventbrite please register for the run between 27th January  and 5th February please. \nOur February Run has been compiled and will be by Burton and Lesley. The details need finalising and the route checked for roadworks\, at the moment the starting point is to be Moorlands 9.15 for 10.00\, the route will be Ladybower\, Bamford\, Hope\, The Winnats Pass\, Peak Forest\, Tideswell\, Millers Dale\, Wormhill\, Buxton to Poole’s Cavern for T & P stop\, where we are hoping to negotiate a special Peaks and Pennines Group rate for the optional cavern experience. The second part of the run is to be via Bierlow Bar\, Longnor\, then on to one of our favourlte driving roads\, the undulating road to The Winking Man on the A53\, from there we will be heading to Warslow\, Hulme End\, Hartington\, Newhaven\, Pikehall\, Longcliffe\, close to Middleton Top\, Cromford\, Matlock Bath\, Matlock and Rowsley\, Whilst in the area it would be rude to pass by The Shalimar Indian Restaurant without calling in for a mid afternoon meal! As there are various options at Poole’s Cavern\, and also the café needs to know numbers\, booking will be via Eventbrite\, the link to which will be added shortly. DESCRIPTION:Movember MX-5 Madness Charity Run 16/11/2025 \n\n\nNovembers run is a 70 mile drive through the Pennines\, we are very pleased to have a very compact route with some stunning views of the area. \n\n\nThe run will start from Dearne Valley Farm Public House at Birdwell just off Junction 36 of the M1. We will meet at 09:00\, the pub is open for breakfasts and hot drinks. After a brief drivers meeting\, the 1st group to be leaving at 09:45. \n\n\nThere will be a halfway comfort break at the Pennine Garden Centre\, at Shelley. This should be around 11:00-11:15\, they have an excellent cafe and we expect to be there for an hour. \n\n\nThe second half will once again take us out on the backroads and we will finish the Run at the National Mining Museum\, near Wakefield. This should be around 14:30. \n\n\nWe have taken the decision for this run to support the Mens Prostrate & Testicular Cancer Awareness Charity  \n\n\nFor those of you who don’t know\, Movember is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men’s health issues. As this may be a little short notice and not everyone will be able to grow the moustaches in time. DESCRIPTION:Run to Northumberland 16th August for the Rounders Match organised by Tyne Tees 17th August\nBrent and Gill Newbold will lead the run\, it is our intention to stay over the Saturday 16th August and leave on the 18th August\, Peaks and Pennines members will be staying at The Premier Inn at Alnwick NE66 2PF\, subject to availability. \nFrom Tyne Tees Events Page \nOur Holy Island Rounders game is definately going ahead and it’s going to be memorable. you must put this event in your diary. Tyne Tees versus Scotland rounders game the equivalent to the Ashes in cricket. We need volunteers to play for our Tyne Tees area. Mick Fisher is our team captain again. Mick also will lead our Mx-5’s on route to Holy Island. \nThe causeway to Holy Island is open from 12 noon till 20.25 according to the Northumberland County Website\, Holy Island Safe Crossing times. \nOther areas are looking to join us for this event and would love to join in and play. \nYou can attend this event and travel there and back in a day or do what we have done in the past and stay at a hotel over night. \nThe Bluebell hotel\, Belford has rooms from £98 with breakfast and free cancellation until 15th August. Book your room now as this is going to be a very popular event. Mick Fisher is sorting out with the Bluebell Hotel an evening meal on Sunday night. DESCRIPTION:Book your place HERE Booking closes 6pm on Thursday July 3rd. \nStarting at The Stockyard\, Hellaby (because the grubs better !) at 9:15\, leaving at 10:00\, our route takes us mainly on scenic A and B Roads north to The Fenton Café and Grill\, located deep within the former RAF Church Fenton base for our mid morning stop. \nAn unexpected bonus is that its Spitfire day at the Airport\, a commercially preserved Spitfire FR9 \,will be flying in and out\, offering a 30 Minute Spitfire flight experience in the sky’s about Leeds & York\, for those with £3350 to spare. \nFrom there we head north mainly on B roads to the York Ring Road\, shortly after passing The Highway Man Café on the A64 we will turn left into the grounds of Castle Howard and proceed past the memorial column onto the five mile straight\, then we pass through several picture postcard villages. \nThen its briefly onto the A 170 and down into Helmsley turning left onto the long private drive leading to Duncombe Park\, \nThe Steam and Vintage Rally field is on the left\, if Steam is not your thing turn right into The National Birds of Prey Centre. Car park. \nGroup Admission prices have been negotiated at both venues\, £10.00 per car at the Rally and £13.50 per person At The National Birds of Prey Centre (*see Alan for a discount voucher) \nThe suggested return route is via Helmsley\, Kirby Moorside\, Pickering\, Old Norton\, Malton\, Buttercrambe then to the A64 and M1 or A19 and M18 \nOr you could book into The Premier Inn in Pickering and go for a a curry and a pint – if the Landlady will have us back in !! \nBoth venues require numbers please register to come on this run using The Eventbrite Booking System\, the closing date is 6pm on Thursday July 3rd. \nAlan Round has kindly volunteered to lead this run. \nRoute Card Stockyard to Cafe Fenton \nRoute Card Cafe Fenton to Dunscombe Park \n

DESCRIPTION:Run around the scenic villages of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire\, starting at The De Rodes in\nBarlborough S43 4ER\, (timings to follow) and visiting the Workhouse at Southwell\, a Georgian Workhouse and Infirmary which is a National Trust property. \nAdmission is £15 to non members of The National Trust and free to members\, if we have more the 15 non National Trust members visiting there is a 75p discount per person. On arrival you will be provided with an audio guide which will give you the freedom to spend your time at the property as you wish. \nPlease remember to bring 50p or a card to pay for the Dunham Bridge toll. \nWe will move on to The Fox at Kirton for Sunday Lunch which is booked for 3.00 pm\, Martin will need your choices before 28th May (please see menu attached and the in the link below). \nMartin will need a £5 deposit which can be paid by bank transfer or in cash at the next meeting 4th June. \n
