DESCRIPTION:Sun 14th September 2025:   Annual MX-5 National Rally \nVenue: Stonor Park\, Stonor\, Henley-on-Thames RG9 6HF\nTime: 10:30 – 17:00\nMeeting Point: TBA\nMeeting Time: TBA\nThe MX-5 National is the largest MX-5 event in the World with regularly over 1500 MX-5s of every generation and style attending the show. \n\nTickets will be included as part of your membership and will be sent to you in the special edition of the Owners Club magazine scheduled for closer to the date.\n\nThis extravaganza will be held at Stonor Park & Gardens\, one of England’s oldest manor houses\, situated in one of the most beautiful settings\, owned by the same family for over 850 years. Recently listed as number 7 on Visit Britain’s list of the Top 25 most magnificent stately homes and manor house. \nThe house contains a remarkable collection of portraits\, beautiful stained glass\, old Master Drawings\, European Bronzes\, an early 19th century wallpaper of Paris. \nThe park\, with its famous herd of fallow deer\, is also open by way of a public footpath throughout the year\, from where there are stunning views of both the house and surrounding countryside. We’ll be starting at Upton-upon-Severn Marina where teas/coffees and bacon rolls etc. will be available and making our way to the Wythall Transport Museum https://www.wythall.org.uk where we’ll have the chance to display our cars and enjoy the exhibition and maybe have a ride on a bus.\n\n\nEntry to the Museum for Car and Driver is free; passenger admission price is £5. The Museum has a cafeteria that serves basic hot food\, but for those who would prefer a Sunday Roast\, a local pub\, the Coach & Horses\nhttps://www.coachandhorsesinn.co.uk/\nwill be happy to accommodate us at 3.00pm. Please note: the pub needs our menu choices in advance\, and a £5 deposit per person is required. See Sunday Menu:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nI shall be collecting deposits and menu choices at the August and September meetings\, as well as at the Pershore Plum Festival. DESCRIPTION:Start of the drive is The Tea Room at The Fairview Gardener\, Chapel Lane\, Birdwood\, Gloucester GL2 8AR.  For those who wish to eat\, please arrive at 8:45 to ensure that we can make a prompt departure by 9:55 at the latest. (Luke and his team are opening up early just for our group).\n\nThe briefing will be at 9:45.  So please ensure you arrive in time for this.\n\nThe route will follow a combination of A and B roads and will be approximately 110 miles.  Heading towards Hay on Wye via the golden valley\, we will take a stop for a comfort break at The Old Railway Garden Centre\, Three Cocks.  The route will then go towards Abergavenny and see us drive over the Blorenge – lovely views if the weather conditions permit!  From  here we will drive through Blaenavon (a world heritage site) before stopping at Caerwent\, a roman village.  There is a large free car park and toilets and we should have time for a wander around the village.  We then make our way over the Severn Bridge with our final destination being the Wolfridge cafe and alpaca farm near Alveston\, Thornbury.\n\nTo enable the tea room and wolfridge cafe to know numbers\, we need you to confirm by Thursday 19th February\, by emailing southwestmidlands@mx5oc.co.uk if:-\n\n\n\nYou wish to have food at the start\n\n\nYou wish to have light refreshments at the destination – this cafe has limited space and tables will be reserved for us but are limited so walk ins on the day are not possible.  There is an alternative cafe which will be noted on the route and which does not require advance booking.\n\n\n\nFor those who wish to have a Sunday lunch there are a number of carvery type places that you can book.\n\n\nMany thanks\n\nJulie & Gary

DESCRIPTION:Sunday 5th April 2026:     Pageant of Transport – Weston-Super-Mare.\n \nVenue: Beach Lawns\, Weston-super-Mare\, Somerset\, BS23 1AT\nTime: 08:00 – 17:00 (Cars need to be on site by 09:30)\nMeeting Point: TBA\nDepart: TBA\nArrival on site no later than 09:30 \nThe event runs over two days – the 4th and 5th of April 2026\, SWM will be attending as a club on the 5th only. \nFor the facebook event details about the Pageant click here\n\nThe event is situated on the beach lawns in Weston-super-Mare right next to the seafront. Traditionally it has been a show for classic cars but as its Pageant of Transport they would like to see a whole variety of transport options. Cars\, motorbikes\, tractors\, lorries\, buses & military vehicles. Anything of interest is certainly welcome. \nThe event is run by and in aid of which is Weston-super-Mare Sea Cadets and Royal Marine Cadets. \nTickets are on sale now via the web site below on a first come first served basis.\nThere is also an option to buy a commemorative plaque (£7.50) online with your entry tickets\, the commemorative plaques will be available to pick up at the Sea Cadets tents over the event day so just bring a copy of your ticket so we can hand over your plaque to you. \nNote: The pageant is over two days so make sure you select tickets for SUNDAY 5th April.
