Exhibits also include the recently restored model of the village and the Pentney mammoth bones\, teeth\, and tusks.

DESCRIPTION:Hi everyone\, \nYou may remember that at our Beach BBQ back last summer\, Kim Parkinson Joined us for the first time in her MX-5 and enjoyed meeting everyone. \nThe upshot is\, that Kim does the catering at FONFA (Friends of New Forest Airfields) in the New Forest and sowed the seeds of an idea with me at the Beach BBQ to arrange a visit to FONFA and Kim would put on a buffet lunch for us\, as she runs the catering team at FONFA. \nSo\, after lots of email exchanges we agreed a date convenient to both sides and it was decided to slot the FONFA visit into our Solent Area Programme for Saturday 12th April 2025 (we had to move the event right one week to clear the first sunday of the month\,as that weekend was their first weekend of opening after the winter shutdown. \nKim is providing details of the buffet lunch she is able to supply to members and these will be posted here as soon as we recveive them together with the cost per head ? \nPlease keep an eye out for updates to this event! \nBest Regards \nTeam Solent \n

Please pay with cash. \nOriginal Event description \n  \nThis event is in Memorial to Ray Lilburn. A true gentleman and much respected active member of the MX-5 Owners Club Tyne Tees. We are hoping for a large turnout for this event. \nMeet and Greet 10am for a 10.30am start from the Anson Farm Middlesbrough;; this event will be lead by Brian & Veronica Crowther. \nWe will leave the Anson Farm and head to Stokesley;; from Stokesley we will travel along unnamed roads to Easby;; Battersby;; Kildale;; Commondale;; Castleton;; and onto Lealholm YO21 2AQ for our first (15 minute) Comfort break. We will then leave Lealholme and head for Goathland again along unnamed roads. Arrive at Goathland YO22 5AL at approximately 12.30pm. \nWe will stay in Goathland for approximately 2 hours so plenty of time to take in the beautiful village and visit the tea room where you can pre order your afternoon food when you book onto this event. We recommend the afternoon tea it’s beautiful. Menu and prices are on our monthly email. We have now sent our food order to the tea room\, if you want food at the tea room and have not ordered you can still get food by placing your order on the day at the tearoom. \nWe leave Goathland and travel to Pickering and onto our final comfort break at Hutton le Hole YO62 6UA \nWe leave Hutton le Hole and travel back via Stokesley to the Middlesbrough District Motor Club at Coulby Newham TS8 0RP a new venue to the MX-5 Owners Club Tyne Tees where we hope you will join us for refreshments. \nTulip Maps will be available on the day.

DESCRIPTION:A Run of the Year winner from 2017is being re-run by Richard & Antonia Hirst. Meet at Wetherby Services on the A1\, LS22 5GT at 10.00am for a 10.30am start. There will be a safety briefing beforehand. First stop will be at Sutton Bank Glider Club\, YO7 2EY. The route then heads to Kirkbymoorside car park\, YO62 6AS for 20-30 minutes. Please make sure you register your car at the pay/display machine\, parking is free for 1 hour between 12.00 noon and 2.00 pm.The route then travels through Farndale ( The Daffodil Dale) to a stop at Castle Howard\, YO60 7DA. DESCRIPTION:Irwin and Edwina have arranged a beautiful scenic run through Cumbria where a thoroughly enjoyable time is sure to be had. It is hoped this exciting event will be of particular interest to members residing in the upper northern area of the NW region.\n\nMeeting at The Longlands Inn\, Tewitfield\, Carnforth; LA6 1JH\, for coffee from 09:15 we shall depart at 10:00 prompt for the first of three legs. Of around one hour in duration (41 miles) we head North on the A6 through Milnthorpe and on via Kendal and Shap to Abbots Lodge Jersey Ice Cream Parlour\, at Clifton\, near Penrith; CA10 2HD\, where there will be a 45minute stop for you to enjoy a delicious high quality jersey ice cream – or another coffee! We aim to arrive around 11:00 and leave by 11:45 latest.\n\nWe will continue North for a further 46 miles on some great ‘B’ roads via Lowther Park\, Pooley Bridge and Hutton-in-the-Forrest to The Greenhill Hotel; CA7 8LS\, near Wigton where lunch has been arranged which needs to be ordered in advance. DESCRIPTION:Hi Everyone\, \nThis will be the first evening drive after the clocks have gone forward and the lighter evenings enable us to get out in our 5’s\, for some “Top Down Motoring”?? \nI bit the bullet and forced myself to visit the Hampshire Bowman in Dundridge to scope a post drive visit there for supper and managed to speak directly with Kieran the new Landlord and dicuss what would be in the art of the possible? \nKieran was very receptive and remembered my comment on their FaceBook Page\, when they were revving up things prior to re-opening\, after the pubs sad closure in October 2024. \nKieran said that they normally shut the kitchen on a Tuesday and Wednesday but for us\, he will open the kitchen and provide Solent Members with some delicious food (Good Chap)\, as long as we pre-order\, not to mention the fine Wines and Real Ales on offer?? \nI tried the Extra Special Ale whilst there (5.2%) and it was stunning ?? \nThe drive\, which will finish at The Hampshire Bowman at 19:30 sharp\, ready for supper. So\, we will depart Costa Coffee\, Broadcut\, Fareham. PO16 8SU at 18:15 prompt\, in order to drive via the drive route in order to arrive at approx 19:15 to 19:30. \nNB: Google Map directions will be handed to all those currently booked in on the drive at the Broadcut Rendevouz Point! \nKieran is sending me a revised menu on Monday 7th April\, which I will post immediately\, as Kieran has asked for the pre-orders to be with him by the following Monday 14th April\, so we  will ask for members choices soonest\, in the normal way on the forum and capture them on a spreadhseet? \nIf the weather is fine we can eat outside or there is a nice dining area\, which seats 25 people\, so we should be able to fit in there ok\, based on past experience. \nThe drive directions and timings are to follow and will be published as soon as they have been finalised! \nBest Regards \nTeam Solent \n  \n  \n  \n

(Next to IKEA) \n10am meet for 10.15 Briefing and 10:30 Departure. \nThis is an approx 45mile run\, that will take approx 2hr\, to Waterperry Gardens\, near Wheatley Oxfordshire\, OX33 1JZ to enjoy the Fritillary season and the rest of the beautiful riverside gardens. There is a Cafe’ on site so a lunch or lite bite can be purchased.\nThere are also a number of other attractions and shops to enjoy. \nThe route will snake westward from Bletchley\, North of Buckingham to Stowe and then south\, skirting the eastern edge of Bicester and on southward to Waterperry. All via A and B roads. \nFull navigation Instructions are provided and there is the possibility of a GPX route download\, if you are familiar with the bikeGPX phone App. \nMore Info about Waterperry Gardens: \nMade famous by Beatrix Havergal who established her School of Horticulture for Ladies here from 1932 to 1971\, it’s now home to 20 acres of beautifully landscaped ornamental gardens\, a quality plant centre and garden shop\, gallery and gift shop\, museum and tea shop. \nSee the county flower of Oxfordshire in all its native splendour as it flowers in our wildflower meadow and riverside walk throughout April. \nPLEASE NOTE:\nThere is an entrance charge of £12.50pp (Adult) to enter the landscaped Gardens\, where the Fritillary’s are located\, but access to the rest of the estate\, including the Tea Room\, and a number of shops is free. \nPlease note dogs are allowed on a short lead around the estate and garden centre but are NOT allowed within the paid entrance ornamental gardens.
