SUMMARY:North West –Inter Area Event at The Avro Heritage Museum
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\nThe Ultimate Avro Vulcan Experience\n\nA unique opportunity to visit the Avro Heritage Museum where it is possible to have a photo of our North West MX-5 OC members cars under the wings of the iconic Avro Vulcan XM603\n\nThis event has been organised by the Area Coordinators of the North West\, Peaks and Pennines\,Tyne Tees\,and Yorkshire Ridings.\n\n\nThe Avro Heritage Museum preserves the legacy of Alliot Verdon-Roe and his company A.V.Roe & Co. Located on the former Woodford Aerodrome\, near Stockport\, the site saw the production of famous aircraft including the Lancaster\, Vulcan\, Nimrod and BAE 146.\n\nThe Heritage Museum is packed with fascinating exhibits and home to the only example of an all white Vulcan bomber. There are many activities on offer including a Vulcan Simulator and other hands on equipment. The museum has a small cafe with views of the mighty Vulcan bomber standing proudly outside. There should also be a Burger Van on the car park and there is a local garden centre just opposite the museum entrance which has an excellent restaurant and menu to suit all.\n\n\nThe museum is entirely self funded\, relying on admission fees and staffed by volunteers\, many of whom worked at Woodford. We have a much reduced admission fee of only £10 per car plus voluntary contributions if using the simulator etc.\n\nWe meet at Lymm Services\, WA13 0SP\, 10:00am for a 10:30 start. There will be a short organised drive of 45 minutes to the museum to arrive approximately 11:15am. Together they celebrate all that is excellent in motor transport down through the ages. \nThe event has raised substantial funds which has allowed St Rose’s and St Martin’s\, along with help from the Variety Club of Great Britain\, to replace its aged minibuses. DESCRIPTION:Meeting at 10.30am on Sunday 4th May in DFS Car park Inverness. \nWe will then head south on the A9 before cutting off to head for Tomintoul via Carrbridge and Grantown-on-Spey. \nThose of you from Moray can meet us in Grantown-on-Spey to save you coming across to Inverness in the morning (the big lay-bys on the bypass are a good meeting point) \nAfter a short break in Tomintoul it will be over the Lecht and onto Braemar where we will try and schedule lunch. \nReturn route will be similar\, but on these great roads with stunning scenery that will be no hardship. \nEstmated driving time from Inverness to Braemar is 2.5 hours there\, and the same back\, total route distance approx 215 miles.

DESCRIPTION:Dear all\, \nIn conjunction with Jeff and Gavin (IOW Area Coordinators) we have arranged what is affectionately known as:  “The MX-5 Weekender”? \nThe IOW Group are coming over to the Big Island? on Saturday 3rd May and staying at the Potters Heron\, Romsey. \nThe programme for their visit is as follows; \nSaturday 3rd May: The IOW Members come over from the small Island to The Big Island and will partake in a small drive via the Hamsphire Countryside to have lunch. This will be followed by a visit to Doctor MX-5 for a Technical visit to see Doctor MX-5’s fully approved Electric MX-5. \nNB: Unfortunately\, due to a space limitations\, we have had to limit the visit to Doctor MX-5 to 20 poeple max\, so we will set up a seperate future visit for Solent Area members to see the Electric MX-5. \nSunday 4th May: Solent Area will neet up with the IOW Group and partake in a drive that the IOW Group had all read about in a Solent Area Newlsetter\, back in the days when\, IOW came under Solent Area and specifically wanted to do\, courtesy of Diane  & Terry. \nThis drive was affectionately termed Terry’s infamous “Wet Run”? as it poured with rain all day and the night before and we enountered some serious flood waters on the route but the actual day of the drive was bright and we proceeded with the drive and the route took us through some very scenic Hampshire Countryside. \nRendevous Point: Roman Road\, Stockbridge\, Hants. DESCRIPTION:Join Liz and John as we meet 27 West Sussex & Downs area members (14 cars) at Buckfast Abbey for a couple of hours before heading over the moors to Castle Drogo.  This is a 30 mile trip that should be covered in around an hour and will take in some of the best scenery that Dartmoor has to offer!  Please email us (southwest@mx5oc.co.uk) or message (07368 492829) if you intend joining us.  We need to know numbers by 1st May so we can advise the Abbey of our numbers. We are intending to have breakfast in the Abbey cafe and leaving the Abbey around 12:00pm for our 1 hour trip over the moors.  Please be aware there is a charge of £3 for the parking at Castle Drogo and there is a souvenir shop and cafe in the castle grounds.

LS17 9LG \nWe at the MX-5 Owners Club Tyne Tees have for a long time been asking for an event in or around our area\, now we have one lets show our support and have a record number of our Tyne Tees members at this event. \nWe have a gate opening time at Harewood House of 9.30am \nWe will have 3 start points for our area members \nNorth Members Meet & Greet at the Ridley Arms Stannington NE61 6EL at 7am for 7.10am run start to Washington services. Meeting up with the Central Area. \nCentral Members Meet & Greet at the Washington Services South Bound 7.30am for 7.45am run to Scotch Corner.  Meeting up with the South Area Members. \nSouth Area Members Meet & Greet at Scotch Corner Services 8.15am for run start to Harewood House 8.30am so we can get to Harewood House for approximately 9.30am \n  \nWe do require volunteers to assist with the events during the day.
