SUMMARY:North West – Trough of Bowland to the Cross Keys for Lunch
DESCRIPTION:This run is being organised by Jo and Allan Diamond. \nWe will leave Truck Haven at 10.15 (route now available below and also on our Facebook page) and travel through Wray\, Dunsop Bridge\, Newton-in-Bowland and Cow Ark to the Cross Keys at White Chapel. After lunch we will make one circle of the Beacon Fell Country Park before travelling on to Slaidburn\, Tosside\,and High Bentham before stopping for a break at the Bridge Cafe in Wray. \nIf you require lunch at the Cross Keys\, there are only 40 places available so allocation will be on a first come first served basis. (the menu is below and on the “File” tab on our Facebook page) You must email ‘joandald@aol.com’ with your menu choice to be part of the 40 before 5 pm on Thursday the 29th May. For numbers over the 40\, the Cross Keys may be able to give you lunch but not in the same room. You will have to negotiate with them on 01772 954779. \nNB. SUMMARY:North West – Midweek Drive to Coniston
DESCRIPTION:This event has been organised by David and Sheila James which was originally planned for the previous day. Please note the change! \nThe drive runs from Carnforth Truckstop to the Ruskin Museum Car Park in Coniston. From there members can visit the museum to see the refurbished Bluebird that Sir Donald Campbell drove along the Lake. \nA walk down to the Lakeside will also provide an opportunity to take the 12.00 sailing on Coniston or to have lunch at the Bluebird Cafe there. \nParking at the Ruskin Carpark is £7.50 for the day which is similar to other parking cost in Coniston. Members will have to book tickets for the 12.00 sailing themselves which lasts an hour. Museum charges are £10.00 per person. \nThe Bluebird Cafe is at the lakeside and would make part of a 1.5 mile walk from the Ruskin Carpark to the lake\, along the shore and back to the carpark. \nWe leave Coniston at about 2.00pm to drive through Skelwith Bridge and Bowness then take the Lyth Valley road and some back lanes to finish for a coffee at Crooklands Hotel. \nTulip maps are available below and also our Facebook Page in the file section. \nPlease indicate on our Facebook page\, MX-5 Owners Club North West\, or reply on our email address\, northwest@mx5oc.co.uk\, if attending this event. \nConiston Run \n

SUMMARY:North West – Classic and Performance Motor Show – Hoghton Tower\, Preston
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce the MX-5 Owners Club\, North West Area\, will be displaying a selection of members cars at the Classic and Performance Motor Show\, Hoghton Tower\, Preston\, on Sunday 29th June 2025. \nThe North West will have a stand on the lawns facing the iconic Hoghton Tower which has played host to King James 1st\, Dickens and Shakespeare. This will be our first show at Hoghton Towers although we have exhibited at other shows organised by the Great British Motor Shows in the past\, being at Lytham Hall and Leighton Hall\, each have been very successful. \nWe will be showing 10 cars from Mk 1 (NA) through to RF. The show will have a huge selection of classic and performance cars which may remind you of your youthful years and could be very nostalgic if maybe you once owned a particular model on show. \nYou should be guaranteed a great day out. Admission cost are £12.50 per adult on the day\, or £9.50 in advance online. See the link below for more information.
