SUMMARY:Peaks and Pennines – Monthly Run organised by Burton and Lesley
DESCRIPTION:This run still has some fine tuning to be done so could change slightly. This run is listed on Eventbrite please register for the run between 27th January  and 5th February please. \nOur February Run has been compiled and will be by Burton and Lesley. The details need finalising and the route checked for roadworks\, at the moment the starting point is to be Moorlands 9.15 for 10.00\, the route will be Ladybower\, Bamford\, Hope\, The Winnats Pass\, Peak Forest\, Tideswell\, Millers Dale\, Wormhill\, Buxton to Poole’s Cavern for T & P stop\, where we are hoping to negotiate a special Peaks and Pennines Group rate for the optional cavern experience. The second part of the run is to be via Bierlow Bar\, Longnor\, then on to one of our favourlte driving roads\, the undulating road to The Winking Man on the A53\, from there we will be heading to Warslow\, Hulme End\, Hartington\, Newhaven\, Pikehall\, Longcliffe\, close to Middleton Top\, Cromford\, Matlock Bath\, Matlock and Rowsley\, Whilst in the area it would be rude to pass by The Shalimar Indian Restaurant without calling in for a mid afternoon meal! As there are various options at Poole’s Cavern\, and also the café needs to know numbers\, booking will be via Eventbrite\, the link to which will be added shortly. SUMMARY:P & P Inter Area Meeting at The Avro Heritage Museum
DESCRIPTION:Route Card is now  available HERE \nThe Ultimate Avro Vulcan Experience.\n\nRegister to come on this Run NOW via this LINK\n\nA unique opportunity to visit the Avro Heritage Museum where it will be possible to have a photo the Peaks and Pennines OC members cars taken under the wings of the iconic Avro Vulcan XM603\,the only Vulcan in the world to be preserved in the anti-flash white paint scheme.\nThis event has been organised by the Area Coordinators of the North West\, Peaks and Pennines\,Tyne Tees\,and Yorkshire Ridings.\n\nThe Avro Heritage Museum preserves the legacy of Alliot Verdon-Roe and his company A.V.Roe & Co. Located on the former Woodford Aerodrome\, near Stockport\, the site saw the production of famous aircraft including the Lancaster\, Vulcan\, Nimrod and BAE 146.\nThe Heritage Museum is packed with fascinating exhibits and home to the only example of an all white Vulcan bomber. \nThere are many activities on offer including a Vulcan Simulator and other hands on equipment. \nThe museum has a small cafe with views of the mighty Vulcan bomber standing proudly outside. \n\nThe museum is entirely self funded\, relying on admission fees and staffed by volunteers\, many of whom worked at Woodford. \nWe have a much reduced admission fee of only £10 per car plus voluntary contributions if using the simulator etc.\n\n\n​ Read more about this Historic Aircraft and other Attractions at The Avro Heritage Centre \nRefreshments will be available throughout the day in The Vulcan Cafe   \nThere will also be a Outdoor Catering Van on the car park \nThe Aviator Inn is on the roundabout before the museum approach road\, there  is also a Garden Centre nearby which has an excellent restaurant and menu to suit all. \nThe group from the Peaks and Pennines Area will meet at Moorlands\, Owler Bar S17 at 9:0 leaving at 9:45\, the anticipated arrival time at Avro  is arounds 11:00 \nBookings for this Event will close on the Friday before the event or when the ticket capacity is reached \nPlease study the clubs Good Driving Guide before coming on a run \nSee some of the places we plan to visit (or revisit) \nThe Route Card is now  available HERE\, please print it out and bring a hard copy with you\, reading the route from a tablet or similar is not acceptable.  This is a Health and Safety requirement;; \nAs Comfort Stops that are able to take the numbers of cars we are attracting on our runs are difficult to find\, we would ask members to buy something at each venue\, be it only a cuppa\, a buttie or a piece of cake. \n\n\n\n	Related

DESCRIPTION:Sorry this Run is fully booked\, and there is a waiting list\nPlease chose your food requirements at Ye Olde Mustard Pot (Midhopestones nr Stocksbridge) via THIS LINK before attempting to Reserve a Spot to come on this run. \nAs the cafe at Arnfield only has seating for 24 inside\, we are limiting this numbers on this run. Book your place/s now \nThe first Sunday Run of 2025 on Jan 12th meets at 9:30 for a 10:00 departure at Moorlands \,Owler Bar S17 3BQ . \nOur route is via The Hope Valley to The Ladybower Reservoir\, then up The Snake Pass dropping down into Glossop\, and on to our mid morning break at The Arnfield Reservoir Cafe overlooking the Arnfield Reservoir. \nThen its briefly onto the back on to Woodhead Pass\, before turning left and heading up to The Holme Moss Transmitter from where a panoramic view of the Kirklees Area will (hopefully be visible). \nAfter passing through Holmfirth where The last of the Summer Wine was filmed\, we climb up Dunford Road to The Flouch Roundabout\, passing very close to The Oil Can Cafe on route. \nThen we drop down the hill towards Stocksbridge\, turning right towards Midhopestones before arriving at our final destination Ye Olde Mustard Pot for a Sunday Roast or just a Sandwich \nShould The Snake Pass be closed our route will be via The Winnats Pass to Glossop\, then roughly as above. \nAs venues that are able to take the numbers of cars we are attracting on our runs are difficult to find\, I would ask members to buy something at each venue\, be it only a cuppa\, a buttie or a piece of cake. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	Related
